Best Feijoada - Via Brasil: One of the first restaurants of Little Brazil, VIA BRASIL still keeps folks coming back, despite its glitzy refurbishment a few years ago. The cauldron of meat and beans, the fluffy rice, the orange segments, and the well-cut couve, or kale, are enough to make a Carioca out of everyone. You've missed the offerings to Iemanja on the beach; the Feast of the Navigators has ended, and they've already washed the steps at Bonfim. You can still get your dose of rice and beans and your caipirinha at this Little Brazil spot. Join the Cariocas and others who pack the joint to savor hearty dishes like the churrasco de picanha, a slab of tender salt-cooked beef, or the overflowing cauldron of feijoada, beans, rice, smoked meats, and more that's always available. Add a bunch of batidas and you'll have the same hangover you'd get in Rio without the jet lag.
